What is TasteTok?

TasteTok is a mindful eating app that helps you slow down and enjoy your meals through gentle vibration reminders. By eating more slowly, you can improve digestion, feel more satisfied, and naturally manage portions.

How to Start Your First Meal

  1. Open TasteTok and select your meal type (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Snack)
  2. Choose your reminder interval (10-90 seconds) - we recommend starting with 20-30 seconds
  3. Tap "Start Meal Timer" and begin eating
  4. Feel gentle vibration reminders at your chosen interval
  5. When finished, tap "Stop Timer"
  6. Optionally add notes and rate your meal (1-5 stars)
  7. Tap "Save Meal" to track your progress
For your first few meals, try a shorter interval (15-20 seconds) to get comfortable with the reminders. You can always adjust it later!

Adjusting Vibration Intervals

Choose the interval that works best for you:

Adding Notes & Ratings

After stopping your timer:

  1. Tap the notes field to add comments about your meal
  2. Tap the stars to rate your satisfaction (1-5)
  3. Tap "Save Meal" to keep your notes

Exporting Data to CSV (Premium)

  1. Go to "Manage Data" from the welcome screen
  2. Tap "Export to CSV"
  3. Choose where to save: Files app, email, AirDrop, etc.
  4. Your meal data is now exported with date, time, duration, notes, and ratings

Restoring Premium Purchase

If you purchased premium and need to restore it (new device, reinstall):

  1. Tap the 🛒 shop button on the welcome screen
  2. Your purchase should restore automatically
  3. If not, contact support at support@ondw.com

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why isn't the vibration working?
Make sure your iPhone is not in Silent Mode (check the switch on the left side). Also check Settings > Sounds & Haptics > ensure vibration is enabled. If you're still having issues, try restarting the app.
Q: Can I pause the timer during a meal?
Yes! Simply tap "Stop Timer" to pause. The timer will show your current duration. You can then save the meal or discard it.
Q: How do I delete old meal records?
Premium users can manage meals in the "Manage Data" screen. Swipe left on any meal to delete it individually, or use "Clear All Data" to remove everything.
Q: Does TasteTok work offline?
Yes! TasteTok works completely offline. All your data is stored locally on your device, and no internet connection is required.
Q: Will my data sync to other devices?
No, TasteTok stores all data locally on your device only. This ensures maximum privacy but means data doesn't sync between devices. You can export your data to CSV and transfer it manually if needed.
Q: What's the science behind mindful eating?
Research shows that eating slowly (taking 20+ minutes per meal) can help with digestion, increase satisfaction, support natural portion control, and improve overall eating awareness. TasteTok helps you maintain this pace through gentle reminders.
Q: Is TasteTok suitable for children?
Yes! TasteTok is appropriate for all ages and can help children develop healthy eating habits. Since we don't collect any personal data, there are no privacy concerns.
Q: Can I get a refund for the premium purchase?
All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. For refund requests, please contact Apple Support directly or visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
Q: How do I earn achievement badges?
Premium users earn badges by reaching milestones: completing meals, building streaks, achieving goals, and consistent practice. Badges unlock automatically as you progress!
Q: Is my data private?
Absolutely! TasteTok collects zero data. Everything stays on your device. We can't see your meal records because we never collect them. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Troubleshooting

App Not Opening or Crashing

  1. Restart your iPhone
  2. Check for iOS updates in Settings > General > Software Update
  3. Delete and reinstall TasteTok (note: this will delete local data)
  4. Contact support if the issue persists

Vibration Too Weak or Too Strong

TasteTok uses your device's maximum vibration intensity for meal reminders. To adjust overall device haptics:

  1. Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics
  2. Adjust "Ringtone and Alert Volume"
  3. Toggle "Vibrate on Ring" and "Vibrate on Silent"

Premium Purchase Not Working

  1. Ensure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID
  2. Check your internet connection
  3. Restart the app
  4. Try tapping the shop button again - it should restore automatically
  5. Contact support@ondw.com if issues continue

CSV Export Not Working

  1. Ensure you have premium features unlocked
  2. Grant TasteTok permission to access Files when prompted
  3. Make sure you have storage space available
  4. Try exporting to email or AirDrop instead
